About One Person Company (OPC)

It is a new type of entity whose concept is introduced in India by Companies Act, 2013. It refers to a company which has only one Individual person as its sole member having all its control over the affairs of the company. This concept of OPC works on the principles of an ordinary company i.e. having all the features of a company like separate legal entity form its members, limited liability, perpetual succession etc. All the formalities corresponding to the resolutions and other compliances requires the only authorization from that sole member which results in quick decision making and time saving. The mechanism of OPC is introduced with a view of making the unorganized sector to organized as the Sole traders got a good opportunity to getting enter into the organized sector without getting other peoples to join him and having all benefits of that sector.
